Year 5’s Mass

Thank you to Year 5 who led our first Mass in Lent. The children reflected on the theme of prayer as the Gospel shared was all about how Jesus taught his disciples to pray. After Mass we reflected on the 2nd Station of the Cross as we continue our journey with Jesus.

Water Safety

We are so pleased to have our own swimming pool on the playground this half term!  It’s really important that children understand how to keep themselves safe around water so the first lesson is all about water safety!  Children worked with Mrs Allum, Mrs Moran and Mr Daniels to learn all about how to be safe by bodies of water in the environment and how to enter our pool safely too!

Stations of the Cross

Today we started our Lenten journey together in school. We paused at the first station and thought about how Jesus must have felt when he was condemned to death. We placed two purple footprints on the wall to mark the start of our journey with Jesus.

Ash Wednesday

As we are not in school for Ash Wednesday on Wednesday 22nd February, we would like to share that the Ash Wednesday Service in the church (Our Blessed Lady and St Thomas of Canterbury) is at 7pm.

Goodbye ‘Allelluia’

As today was our last whole school gathering before the season of Lent begins. The children shared what they remembered about this special season and that we don’t say ‘alleluia’ again until Easter. We placed the ’alleluia’ safely in a box ready to be opened after Easter!

Cross country!

Big congratulations to the children who took part in a cross country running event at Summerhill School last week! The children were brilliant and enjoyed the experience of competing with other schools!

Year 6 Mass

Well done to Year 6 for leading our Mass today. As the leaders of our school Year 6 set a wonderful example of how to be eloquent, discerning and faith filled. Thank you children.

Parish Mass

Thank you to the children, families, staff, governors and director for joining us at our School Parish Mass and making it so wonderful this morning! Eloquent reading, beautiful singing and excellent instrument playing from the children who make us all so very proud!

Reception visit the Church

Well done to our wonderful Reception class children who walked to the Church today! The children worked together to find all of the things on Miss Marsh’s special list!  The children also took some time to pray for their families.

Prayer Boxes

Our class prayer boxes full of resources and cloths for the liturgical year are nearly ready to go to each classroom! The prayer boxes are for the children who lead Collective Worship to use to create their own prayer display!
