Year 5 lead our whole school Mass

The lovely altar displayed created by Year 5

On Tuesday 28th November it was the turn of Year 5 to lead our whole school Mass.

The children did a great job of reading the readings, prayers, creating a lovely role play, bringing the offertory and creating a beautiful altar display.

Well done Year 5.

Christ the King

Our Christ the King Gospel assembly

On Monday 27th November we shared Sunday’s Gospel all about Christ the King.

The children listened to the Gospel reading carefully and explained what Jesus’ message teaches us today.  The children also picked the perfect hymn to match the Gospel – When I needed a Neighbour.

Retreat Day

Some of the Mission Team leading the lIturgy

On Friday 24th November to mark the end of Mission Week in school we held a very special retreat day.

The timetable was stopped for the day and a day of singing, retreat and reflection took place lead by Dan and Emily.

The children took part in guided mediations, singing and reflection activities both in the hall all together and in the classrooms. For more photos please see our special events page!

The day ended with a lovely whole school Liturgy where our Mission Team lead the readings and prayers.

A lovely day for everyone!

Anti-Bullying Week

Our lovely anti-bullying chain

To celebrate all the work we’ve completed during Anti-Bullying week, we held a special assembly on Thursday 23rd November.

All the children shared their work and learning (please see our special events page for more details).

We also created a special blue chain of anti-bullying promises which will be displayed along the corridor.

Year 4’s parent workshop

On Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 23rd November Year 4 invited their parents into school to take part in a Maths lesson.

Lots of parents were able to take part in the lesson and work along side their children.

Everyone had a lovely time!

The Loudmouth actors in action!

On Wednesday 22nd November it was the turn of children from Years 5 and 6 to watch and enjoy the performance form Loudmouth all connected to our anti-bullying work.

The children watched the drama and then took part in a very informative workshop!

Children in ZAP training

On Wednesday 22nd November Mrs Cheema delivered ZAP training to some of the children in Key Stage Two.

As part of Anti-bullying week in school some children took part in the assertive training with Mrs Cheema and learned lots of strategies of what to do if they, or someone they know, is being bullied.

Year 6 at the eZone


On Tuesday 21st November Year 6 visited the eZone at Roberts Street Primary School.

The children worked with Guy to complete some work on Classification to support their Science topic, along with taking part in some orienteering, pond dipping and art activities.

The children had a great time!

On Tuesday 21st November Years 3 and 4 were able to watch a production from Loudmouth Theatre Group and take part in a workshop all connected to our Anti-bullying week in school.

The children very much enjoyed the performance and learned a lot from the workshop afterwards about how to prevent bullying and what to do if you think either you, or someone you know, is being bullied.

The lovely display created by Year 4

On Tuesday 21st November it was the turn of the children from Year 4 to lead our whole school Mass.

The children prepared the readings, prayers, offertory and created a lovely role play to help us understand the word of God.

Year 4 also created a lovely altar display in honour of her Feast Day today – Memorial of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
