FHC Meeting

It was lovely to welcome our Year 3 parents into school for a meeting all about preparing their children to receive the Sacrament of First Holy Communion. Fr Louis also joined us. It’s so lovely to be able to have these special meetings together to support the children as they grow in faith.


Tuesday, 29 March 2022

Following Mass today Fr Louis stayed to hear Confession from the children in Years 4, 5 and 6. We first talked about how God knows we’re not perfect and we make mistakes, but we’re so lucky to have a forgiving God who always forgives us when we’re truely sorry.

Well done to Year 2 who led our whole school Mass today! The children read, acted and played instruments perfectly to make our Collective Worship so beautiful.

Year 2 Prayer Bags

Monday, 28 March 2022

Year 2 will receive their Lent themed prayer bags today to take home and use with their families. The children tell us they like receiving their prayer bags each year and collecting all the prayer cloths and resources to match the liturgical year.

The Angelus

Today, we joined in with schools across the Diocese by praying The Angelus together ahead of Pope Francis’ Act of Consecration of Russia and the Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Today is a special day as we’re also reminded of the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord.

Welcome back to the B-Tales

The children were so excited to welcome the B-Tales back to St Joseph’s! Everyone enjoyed their Thorn in the Crown Production. The children (and staff) laughed and cried as they travelled the journey to the cross with Jesus. A moving performance and one which the children will be remembering for a while yet!

Year 1 lead Mass

Well done to Year 1 for leading our whole school Mass this morning celebrated by Fr Louis. The message today was forgiveness. After Mass we talked about how forgiving others is often difficult to do, but as we look to Jesus we are reminded of how forgiving He is and take guidance, strength and inspiration from Him.

St Joseph’s Day

In celebration of St Joseph’s Day on Saturday 19th March, today we learned even more about Sleeping St Joseph and why he is so important to Pope Francis. As a special gift all the children took home a Sleeping St Joseph Prayer Card so St Joseph can be their protector wherever they go.

Well done to Year 5 who shared their learning all about how to look after our common home – as Pope Francis wrote to us about in his encyclical Laudato Si.

Year 3 Feast Day

Year 3 celebrated their class Saint – St Patrick’s Feast Day today! The children came to school in their own clothes in celebration and learned even more about why St Patrick was a good man.
