King’s Coronation

Today we are celebrating the King’s Coronation! The children have been invited to come to school dressed as Kings or Queens, the bunting is up, we’ve a special lunch to look forward to, the children will be taking home a special gift to mark the occasion and King Charles himself popped in to see us too! 😂

World Book Day!

Some of our children who dressed up!

On Thursday 1st March we celebrated World Book Day by dressing up as our favourite characters from books, films and comics.

The children were invited to wear costumes of their favourite characters for the day in school and learn more about different authors and read some popular stories together.

The children all had a wonderful day!

Year 4 children creating a leaflet for others about staying safe online

Tuesday 6th February was Safer Internet Day!

All of the children in school completed work and activities learning about how to stay safe online, including creating leaflets and posters.

The children have a good understanding of what information they should and should not share online in order to keep themselves safe.

The Choir in action!

On Tuesday 19th December during our Merit Assembly, the children who have taken part in Choir this term treated us to a Christmas performance.

The children sang some Christmas songs which they had been learning and gave us all a little bit more Christmas spirit!

Hagley Band visit St Joseph’s

Hagley band playing some great tunes!

On Monday 10th July Hagley Band visited St Joseph’s with their Music teacher Mr Mallinson.

The band had a 50’s theme and the children from Hagley sang and played many famous hits from the 50’s!

It was a great event which was enjoyed by all the children and staff!

The children all dressed up!

On Friday 7th July the children from Nursery and Reception dressed up as their favourite Disney and superhero characters.

The children had been completing work and tasks on a Disney theme all through the week and ended the week by dressing up as their favourite characters!

Everyone looked fantastic!

Children working in the garden

On Thursday 25th May the children from Nursery visited the school garden.

The children worked with Mr Gilbert to weed the planters and plant some new seeds which we hope will grow very soon!

Year 1 having fun in their workshop!

On Monday 22nd May following our whole school RNLI assembly, Year 1 had a special workshop in their classroom.

Caroline, a volunteer form the RNLI, worked with the children to teach them how to be safe around all kinds of water – but especially the sea.

This was a very important workshop for the children as they prepare for their visit to Clevedon later this year!

Year 1 in the garden

On Monday 22nd May Year 1 worked with Mr Gilbert to plant some new seeds.

The children weeded the garden and prepared the soil before planting seeds which they how will grown very soon!

Year 5 working with Mr Gilbert

On Tuesday 23rd May Year 5 went to our school garden to take out the weeds and plant some seeds.

The children worked together to make sure the seeds were well planted and understand that they need to water them regularly to make sure they grow.

Well done Year 5.
