Year 5’s beautiful display!

On Tuesday 17th October it was Year 5’s turn to lead our whole school Mass.

Before Mass, as we are in the month of October, the whole school prayed a decade of the Rosary together.

Year 5 prepared Mass beautifully, they read clearly, acted sensibly and prepared a beautiful altar display.

The children also reminded us of the values of Eloquent and Truthful which we are looking at this half term.

Following Mass the Catholic children from Year 6 received the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

The visiting teachers in the assembly

On Friday 13th October we held a special International Link Celebration Assembly to say goodbye to the teachers and Headteacher who are visiting from SP118 school in Poland.

During the assembly Year 6C acted out the new story we are sharing with SP118, Year 6M spoke about what they are grateful for, Year 4 sang, Years 3 and 5 shared posters that they had created and Reception shared a dance – Photos are on our Special Events page.

At the end of the assembly the teachers and Headteacher spoke about the wonderful week we have shared together.  We all agree that the link we have with SP118 is special – every child in the school now has a Pen Pal in SP118 who they video link and write letters too!

We are all very grateful that our link is so strong and pray that it continues to grow.

The children and visitors took part in a guided mediation, thinking about meeting Jesus and what they would say to him.

It was a lovely mediation Liturgy which our visitors very much enjoyed.

Mrs Kauser talking to Year 5 and 6.

On Friday 13th October Mrs Kauser kindly came into school to talk to all of the children about Islam.

Mrs Kauser spoke to the children from Nursery all the way through to Year 6 about her faith and shared a very informative PowerPoint presentation along with lots of artefacts for the children to look at.

Our Polish teachers also had time to attend one of the talks which they too found very interesting.
