Honouring Our Lady

Today we had a special assembly to honour Our Lady and crown her with flowers. We asked the children to bring in flowers from home and were overwhelmed with the amount of beautiful flowers they brought in. We sang songs dedicated to Mary and prayed the Rosary together as a whole school. We know that Mary loves us and today we showed her how much we love her too.

It was lovely to celebrate, as a school, with the Year 3 children who received the Sacrament of First Holy Communion on Saturday in a whole school Mass. the children wore their special clothes and we were joined by lots of parents too! Congratulations children.

Congratulations to the Year 3 children who received the Sacrament of First Holy Communion today in church. It was a beautiful Mass and lovely to see so many smiling faces!

The church is all set up and ready for our Year 3 children making their First Holy Communion tomorrow! We’re all very excited to share this beautiful occasion with them.

Year 3 will take home a special First Holy Communion Prayer Bag today to help them pray with their families at home. We look forward to hearing all about the children’s prayerful activities. 🙏🏼

FHC Retreat Day!

Year 3 had a lovely day today, with Dan Callow from One Life Music, on their First Holy Communion Retreat Day. The children spent the day praying, singing, preparing to receive the Sacrament of First Holy Communion on Saturday and having lots of fun! It was lovely to be joined by so many parents and Father Louis for closing prayers too.

Reception class will take home a special Easter themed prayer bag today to use to pray with their families at home. We hope our families like this special gift from the school and enjoy praying together.

Some our our beautiful displays linked to Our Lady this May. Children reflected on how Mary’s actions during her life are linked to the Catholic Social Teachings of today. The displays are full of speech bubbles with children’s thoughts and ideas!

It was wonderful to welcome Year 5 parents into school this morning to take part in an RE lesson. Following the lesson parents were invited to have a coffee with the teacher to discuss the lesson together. We really appreciate parents taking the time to join us in school.

Praying the Rosary

Today, during our first whole school gathering at the start of May, we prayed a decade of the Rosary together.  May is a month (along with October) dedicated to Our Lady and each day during May the children are learning about a different mystery of the Rosary and praying together.
