Year 3 getting ready for their assembly
On Friday 18th October the children from Year 3 shared their initial learning about Black History Month with the rest of the school and their parents during our merit assembly.
The children shared the story of Rosa Parkes and how she wasn’t treated equally – Year 3 also reminded us that Jesus, through the Gospels, teaches us how to treat each other fairly no matter what our differences.
Well done Year 3 for all of your hard work.

Our live link!
On Thursday 17th October we held a special live link up assembly with our partner school SP118 in Wroclaw Poland. Mr Hinton, Miss Marsh and Miss Cresswell from St Joseph’s along with Mr May the Principal from Bishop Milner Catholic College are currently visiting our partner school and it was lovely to see them on the live link up too.
During the link up the children from SP118 shared work they had completed about St John Henry Newman and then the children from St Joseph’s shared the work they have completed all about Pope John Paul II.
It was a lovely event which all the children enjoyed and a great way to keep the link with SP118 so alive!

The children were very happy to take their prayer bags home and especially liked the colourful rosary beads.

Mary and Elizabeth!
On Monday 14th October two abandoned kittens were found in our school’s Bible Garden by the staff from EYFS.
Staff carefully managed to get hold of the kittens and bring them safely into school – where they have been named Mary and Elizabeth!
Mrs Lester from Wild Acre Rescue then came into school to take a look at the kittens and take them away to be check by the vet and socialised before they will be rehomed.
A big thank you to Mrs Lester and Wild Acre Rescue for coming to help us take care of the kittens!
