Year 5 during their assembly

On Friday 17th September the children from Year 5 lead our whole school assembly to share their learning all about Saint Vincent De Paul.

The children did a fantastic job of explaining how Vincent had spent his life looking after the poor and sick and helped us to understanding what we can do to help others in our own lives.

Well done Year 5!

Our harvest display

On Tuesday 24th September we celebrated our Harvest Mass with Year 6 leading.

The children shared beautiful readings and helped display the tins of food which have been kindly donated by the children and their families.

We are so grateful to have so many generous families who help us to support the Good Shepherd Appeal in Wolverhampton.

Year 4’s altar display

On Tuesday 17th September it was the turn of Year 4 to lead our whole school Mass in school.

The children prepared readings, prayers and acting for the rest of the school to join in with during our whole school celebration.

One Year 5 child commented, “I feel that I want to be generous on the playground. I want to be generous with my friendship to others.”

Well done Year 4!

Year 6 during their assembly

On Friday 13th September the children from Year 6 shared their assembly which was all about Fairtrade.

The children took us on a trip to the future to show us what it would be like without people who are able to produce chocolate and it reminded us that they need to be treated fairly in order for the production of chocolate to be sustainable.

Year 6 also linked Fairtrade to Jesus’ teachings about sharing what we have fairly and the values or being grateful and generous which we are learning about this half term.

Well done and thank – you to Year 6!

Year 1 celebrating!

On Friday 13th September the children from Year 1 wore their own clothes to school to celebrate their Class Saint – St Rose of Lima.

Saint Rose of Lima’s special day is during August, but as we’re not in school during the month the children celebrated today and learned lots about why St Rose of Lima was so special.

Happy Saint’s Day Year 1!

On Tuesday 10th September it was Year 5 who led the first school Mass of the new year in school.

The children did a wonderful job of reading and acting out the gospel along with sharing some lovely bidding prayers.

Well done to Year 5 for making the first Mass of the year so special.

One of the Year 6 children commented, “I felt close to Jesus during the acting as I felt like I was one of the crowd.”

Happy Birthday Mary!

Our lovely birthday display for Mary

On Monday 9th September we celebrated Our Lady’s birthday (which was yesterday) by holding a special gathering where we presented Mary with beautiful flowers which the children and their families had donated.

We were overwhelmed with the generosity shown by our families as we had so many lovely flowers which are now shared around the school and placed on our prayer tables.

A BIG thank – you to everyone who brought flowers to school today!
