Jesse Tree Complete!

Our completed Jesse Tree

On Wednesday 18th December we shared the carols and the readings from our Carol Service in Church with the rest of the school.

It was a lovely end to the term in school and which also saw the completion of the Jesse Tree as the final symbol of Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus was added.

Our Equality House Captain!

Big congratulations to everyone who is in Equality!

On Wednesday 18th December we revealed that this terms winning house with the most house points gained since September was Equality!

Our Mission Award winners

During our merit assembly on Wednesday 18th December the Mission Team awarded the mission award medals for this half term.

The Mission Team were over whelmed with entries and took the job of looking though the applications very seriously!  We also had a big number of repeat applications from children who have already been awarded the Mission Medal for their year group but continue to live out the mission of our school!

Our choir performing

On Wednesday 18th December during our morning merit assembly the choir performed one of the Christmas songs which they have been practising during lunchtimes.

The choir did a great job of getting us into the Christmas spirit with their wonderful singing performance!

Spelling and Phonic Winners!

Our winners!

During our merit assembly on Wednesday 18th December we gave out £5 vouchers to the children who had won the spelling raffle for this half term.

Each week the children are given spellings to learn, if in their test they get full marks they are given a raffle ticket to put in the jar.  Each half term a winner is drawn from the spelling jar and the winner receives a voucher!

Well done this half term winners!

Our winners!

On Wednesday 18th December during our morning merit assembly we congratulated the winners from the lunchtime colouring completion.

Children were invited to colour in a Christmas picture and the best one from each class, chosen by Trudy our cook from Bishop Milner, received a chocolate selection box!

Carol Service in Church

Our service in Church

On the evening of Tuesday 17th December lots of children and their families gathered at Our Blessed Lady and St Thomas of Canterbury Church to celebrate the Nativity.  Children from the school read and acted out the Nativity and everyone joined in with singing some beautiful songs and carols.

It was a lovely event and both Fr Louis and Sr Bridget enjoyed seeing the children acting, reading and sharing the true meaning of Christmas.

Mission Team Decides

Some of our Mission Team at work!

On Tuesday 17th December the children from the Mission Team met together to look through the Mission Award applications for this half term.

The Mission Team looked very carefully at all of the applications and the winners will be awarded their medals on our final merit assembly of 2019 on Wednesday!

Advent Reconciliation

Reconciliation prayer focus

On Tuesday 17th December following Mass, the Catholic children from Years 4, 5 and 6 received reconciliation from Father Louis.

As part of preparing our lives for Jesus during Advent the children took the opportunity to reflect on things which they could do a little bit better and asked God to help them.

Congratulations children for being prepared during the season on Advent.

Year 3’s lovely display

On Tuesday 17th December the children from Year 3 led our final school Mass of 2019 which was celebrated by Father Louis.

The children did a wonderful job of sharing readings, prayers and acting out the Gospel to help us to understand the message form the bible.
