The empty stable

On Monday 3rd December the children enjoyed looking at out lovely stable which has been placed in the hall.

The stable is brightly lit, but at the moment only has the animals inside – we can see that Mary, Joseph and the donkey are on their way to the stable (they are on the window sill!) but they haven’t arrived yet!

The Jesse Tree begins!

Monday, 3 December 2018

Our lovely Jesse Tree, Advent wreath and Holy Family.

On Monday 3rd December (our first day in school during Advent) we celebrated the beginning of our school tradition – the Jesse Tree!

Each day during Advent the whole school gathers together to learn all about Jesus’ ancestors.  Following each story a symbol is placed on the Jesse Tree to remind us of Jesus’ ancestors.

Today we started with the creation story and then learned all about Adam and Eve.  Although we have a new brightly lit Jesse Tree this year it is still bare – but it won’t stay like that for long!

Our Jesse Tree is on display in the school hall for everyone to enjoy along with a lovely advent wreath and statue of the Holy Family.

Year 2 sharing their learning

On Friday 23rd November the children from Year 2 led a whole school assembly all about International Children’s Day which was celebrated on 20th November.

Year 2 did a great job of reminding us of how some children are not as lucky as us and don’t have a loving family, beautiful school and warm comfortable homes and that we should be truly grateful to God for all our blessings.

Well done Year 2!
