Working with our parents

On Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th May the children from Reception Class invited their parents into school to take part in an RE lesson with them.

The children really enjoy working along side their parents and sharing everything they are learning about!

Crowning Our Lady

All of the flowers for Mary

On Thursday 16th May LOTS of the children brought in flowers to school to honour our lady in our special assembly.

During the assembly the children from all of the classes brought flowers to place in front of Our Lady’s statue in the hall before crowning her with a garland of pink flowers.

The children sang songs together and prayed a decade of the Rosary too.

We are so grateful to the families who were able to donate so many beautiful flowers – thank you!

Year 4 in their assembly

On Friday 10th May the children from Year 4 lead an assembly all about Mary.

The children told the story Mary’s life and how she was special to God even before she was born.

One child commented, “It was lovely to find out even more about Mary during this special month of May.”

Well done everyone form Year 4!

Year 3’s Prayer Bags

Year 3’s prayer bag

On Thursday 9th May the children from Year 3 received a special First Holy Communion themed prayer bag to take home which is a gift from the school.

The children were really excited about being able to create their own prayer areas at home and we looking forward to the children sharing how they prayed at home with us at school.

On Thursday 9th May the children from Reception Class received a special Easter themed prayer bag to take home which is a gift from the school.

The children were really excited about being able to create their own prayer areas at home and we looking forward to the children sharing how they prayed at home with us at school.

First Reconciliation

Our First Reconciliation focus display

On Tuesday 7th May during a special service the Catholic children from Year 3 received the special Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time.

We are so proud of all of the children from Year 3, both the children who received the Sacrament for the first time today and the children who supported their friends during their preparation.

Well done every one in Year 3!

Year 5 lead Mass

Year 5’s altar display

On Tuesday 7th May it was the turn of the children from Year 5 to lead our whole school Mass which was celebrated by Father Louis.

During the Mass the children shared bidding prayers which they had written themselves and acted out the Gospel to help us to understand it fully.

One Year 6 child commented, “I understand that in life we need more than just physical bread, we need Jesus, the Bread of Life.”

Year 1 visit Tesco

Year 1 at Tesco

On Friday 3rd May the children from Year 1 visited Kerry at our local Tesco.

The children investigated lots of different fruits and where they grow before choosing some to bring back to school to make fruit salad!

The children had a wonderful time and would like to thank Kerry for looking after them during their visit.

Year 4 in the Bible Garden

On Wednesday 1st May the children form Year 3 worked with Mr Gilbert in our Bible Garden.

The children tended to the beds and then planted new seeds which they hope to harvest later this term.

Year 3 on the playground

On Wednesday 1st May the children from Year 3 took part in cycling safety training.

The children leaned all about how to check that their bike is safe before they ride and how to cycle safely.

Well done Year 3!
