Year 1’s Assembly

Year 1 during their assembly

On Thursday 27th June the children from Year 1 presented their assembly to the rest of the school and lots of their parents which was all about Saints Peter and Paul.

The children did a wonderful job of teaching us all about these special Saints and why they are such a good example to us in our daily lives.

Year 4 working with their parents

On Wednesday 26th June the children from Year 4 invited their parents into school to join them in an R.E lesson.

Lots of parents were able to come into school and took part in the lesson which was all about how we can be followers of Jesus.

The children all really enjoyed working with their parents and everyone enjoyed the lesson!

Our lovely certificate!

On Wednesday 16th June Mr Gilbert kindly took the food, that was brought using money which the Mini Vinnies raised, to the local food bank.

The food bank were very grateful for the donated food and sent a lovely certificate and thank you card back to school to share with the children.

Well done Mini Vinnies (and Mr Gilbert) we are very proud of how you are thinking about and helping others!

 

Recorder Concert

The recorder concert!

On Tuesday 25th June the children from Years 1 and 2 shared all their learning about recorders with their families during a special concert.

The children performed songs which they had been learning and everyone was very impressed with their skills!

Year 4 lead Mass

Year 4’s altar display

On Tuesday 25th June it was the turn of children form Year 4 to lead our whole school Mass which was celebrated by Fr Martin.

Mass was a very joyful event with Year 4 sharing their prayers and readings and Father Martin encouraging us to think about the meaning of the gospel in our everyday lives!

A big thank you to Fr Martin for celebrating Mass this morning while Fr Louis is on holiday – it was lovely to meet you!

Confirmation Retreat

Year 6 during their retreat

On Monday 24th June the children from Year 6 enjoyed a Confirmation retreat day with Dan Callow.

The children spent the day together with Dan thinking about the importance of Confirmation and what it means to them.  The children were very reflective during the day and were able to share some of their thoughts, feelings and songs with their parents during a prayer service at the end of the day.

Well done to everyone in Year 6 for taking part in this special day!

 

Mini Vinnies at work

Mini Vinnies working together

On Friday 21st June the Mini Vinnies met together to discuss their plans for the remainder of the summer term.

The children are planning to visit Broadway Halls to say hello and spend some time with the residents and hopefully entertain them with some singing.

Well done to the Mini Vinnies for being so active and thoughtful this term!

Year 2’s Assembly

Year 2 presenting their assembly

On Thursday 20th June the children from Year 2 shared all of their learning about World Refugee Day (21st June) with the rest of the school and their parents during their whole class assembly.

The children did a fantastic job of sharing some of the materials from CAFOD and helping us to understand some of the journeys that refugees have to take in order to be safe.

Well done Year 2 you did a great job!

Year 5 lead Mass

Year 5’s altar display

On Tuesday 18th June the children from Year 5 led our whole school Mass in school which was celebrated by Father Louis.

The children shared bidding prayers which they had written themselves, acted and helped with the offertory to make Mass a very special occasion.

One Year 4 child commented, “Mass is the time when we all come together and know that God is with us.”

Year 3 during their assembly

On Friday 14th June the children from Year 3 shared their class assembly which was all about the Holy Trinity as this Sunday (16th June) is Trinity Sunday.

The children did a wonderful job of explaining the mystery of the Holy Trinity and helped us all to understand a little bit more!
