Our Mini Vinnies have been busy creating prayer bags for the children to take home. The children were proud to be helping others to pray and talked about why prayer is so important.

Our Year 2 children will be continuing their Lenten journey at home by answering the call to pray during Lent. To help them they will be taking home Lent themed prayer bags so they can create a special prayer focus with their family.

Our Year 1 children will be taking home a special prayer bag this week which is themed on Pope Francis. We are keeping the Holy Father very much in our prayers at school and now children can use the prayer card to pray for him at home with their families too.

We welcomed some new creatures to our school today! Newt eggs, frog spawn, tadpoles, sticklebacks and minnows to Pilgrim’s Pond and LOTS of worms to our wormery in St Francis’ Forest!

On Friday we began our Lent tradition of learning about each station of the cross together. We looked at the image of the first station, paused and prayed together. To mark our journey we added two purple footprints at the front of the hall.

Today, at the start of Lent, we did the important job of putting the Alleluia away. The children gave it a wave as we placed it in the special box! We won’t see it again until we return to school after Easter Sunday!
