Event - Year 6 visit the Synagogue

On Monday 19th March Year 6 travelled on the bus to Singers Hill Synagogue in Birmingham. The trip was organised as part of multi-faith week in school as the Year 6 children are learning about Judaism.

The children really listened carefully to all of the information and enjoyed looking at all of the religious symbols in the Synagogue and handling some of the artefacts.


It was beautiful inside the Synagogue.
 
Boys and girls had to enter through different entrances.

The children looked at lots of things.
 
Children saw the Torah Scrolls.

Children handled some of the artefacts.
 
All of the children were very respectful.

Children learned about the Hebrew language.

Children tried on what Jewish people wear to pray.
 
Children discussed the meaning behind the Star of David.
