Friday, 31 March 2017

Our school Mission Statement

To complete our special Mission Week in school, on Friday 31st March each class performed a dance in our Friendship Festival.

The songs that the children performed to were all connected to our Mission statement, values or motto and were fantastic!

In the morning performance Nursery performed to ‘You’ve got a friend in me’, Reception class danced to ‘I’ll be there for you’. Year 1 performed to ‘You raise me up’ and Year 2 danced to Umbrella. (Class photos on our Special Events page)

In the afternoon it was the turn of Year 3 to dance to ‘Man in the mirror’, Year 4 performed to ‘Count on me’, Year 5 ‘We’re all in this together’ and finally Year 6 performed a thoughtful drama of the Sacraments we receive in our lives as we grow to ‘next to me’. (Class photos on our Special Events page)

It was a successful week in school, one which the children, staff and parents really enjoyed!

Mission Week Begins!

Monday, 27 March 2017

Our lovely display of handprints, footprints and speech bubbles.

On Monday 27th March we began our very special Mission Week in school – a week dedicated to the mission of our school ‘At St Joseph’s we work, learn and grow together guided by Jesus’ teachings’.

To begin the week we celebrated a whole school Mass which was beautifully led by the children from Year 4.

During the day the children thought about our school mission, values (kindness, truth, equality, respect and forgiveness) and our slogan (kind hands, kind words…like Jesus) and created beautiful handprints, footprints and speech bubbles full of promises to create a beautiful colourful display in our special gathering at the end of the school day.
