Year 2 visit Twycross Zoo

Getting up close to the animals!

On Friday 15th June Year 2 had a fantastic time at Twycross Zoo.

They loved watching and learning about the animals they have there, especially the monkeys.

Year 2 were lucky to be able to learn about habitats of animals around the world with Nicky. She even let us look at and stroke a chinchilla and a giant cockroach.

There was a brilliant park to play on too before we came home. Year 2 had a great day!

Year 6 children in church

On Monday 18th June the children from Year 6 visited Oscott College.

During the day the children took part in a range of prayful activities and had time for reflection – the children thought about the Sacrament of Confirmation which they are to receive in July and what it means to them.

The children also finished their visit by taking part in Mass with children from other schools.

One child commented, “I really enjoyed the visit, it was informative, prayful and very interesting.”

Year 5 making rockets

On Friday 18th May Year 5 went on a class trip to the ThinkTank in Birmingham as part of their Science topic.

The children had a lovely day which included making rockets and then launching them!

The children had a fantastic time and learned lots!

Year 4 visit Harvington Hall

Year 4 praying the Rosary in the chapel

On Wednesday 16th May the children from Year 4 visited Harvington Hall on a special pilgrimage.

The children had a tour of the building and learned lots about people who had been martyred for their faith along with taking the time to pray the Rosary together in the chapel.

One child commented, “It was a lovely day and I learned lots about how people did amazing things for their belief in God.”

Reception class on their trip

On Thursday 26th April the children from Reception class went on a trip to the e-Zone at Roberts Street Primary School.

The children had a very enjoyable visit and took part in lots of exciting activities including pond dipping!

Everyone had a lovely day and learned lots more about the environment around us.

Year 6 on their trip

On Friday 20th April the children from Year 6 visited St Chad’s Cathedral in Birmingham.

The children had a tour of the Cathedral and learned many interesting facts before joining in the celebration of Mass.

The children all had a lovely time!

One of the circus acts!

On Wednesday 17th January many of the families from St Joseph’s enjoyed a visit to Dudley Town Hall to watch the Circus!

Circus Starr donated a number of circus tickets to St Joseph’s and we held a free raffle which enabled lots of our families a free trip to the circus!

Everyone had a lovely time watching all the circus acts!

Year 6 trip to the eZone

Year 6 at the eZone


On Tuesday 21st November Year 6 visited the eZone at Roberts Street Primary School.

The children worked with Guy to complete some work on Classification to support their Science topic, along with taking part in some orienteering, pond dipping and art activities.

The children had a great time!

Year 2 in the school room!

On Wednesday 8th November Year 2 went on a visit to The Black Country Museum.

The children visited The Black Country Museum to find out what life was like 100 years ago as part of their History topic in school.

The children learned so much which will help them with their work back at school!

Year 4 enjoying the workshop!

On Friday 3rd November Year 4 went on a trip to Wolverhampton Art Gallery to look at some Pop Art and take part in an Art Workshop.

The children travelled to the gallery by bus and really enjoyed looking at all of the art work and being able to create some of their own.

Everyone had a lovely day!
