Year 6 reward!

Year 6 at the cinema!

On Friday 17th May the children from Year 6 celebrated the end of SAT’s with a trip to the cinema!

The children have worked so hard and been so focussed this week Рwe are VERY proud of them all!

Year 1 at Tesco

On Friday 3rd May the children from Year 1 visited Kerry at our local Tesco.

The children investigated lots of different fruits and where they grow before choosing some to bring back to school to make fruit salad!

The children had a wonderful time and would like to thank Kerry for looking after them during their visit.

Year 1 walking the Stations of the Cross

On Wednesday 10th April the children from Year 1 walked to Our Blessed Lady and St Thomas of Canterbury Church in Dudley.

The children visited the church to look around the church and walk the Stations of the Cross together.

All of the children really enjoyed being in the church and learning even more about the Stations of the Cross.

Year 4 visit Harvington Hall

Some of the children learning about what happened in the kitchen!

On Wednesday 20th March the children from Year 4 visited Harvington Hall.

The children had a wonderful time learning all about the building and its history and were especially fascinated by all of the secret priest holes!

The children behaved beautifully and were a real credit to the school!

Year 6 during the Science Event

On Friday 15th March the children from Year 6 were invited to Bishop Milner Catholic College to take part in their Science Week event.

Year 6 had the opportunity to look at a range of robotics displays delivered by visiting speakers and go into the planetarium which had been set up in the hall.

The children had a wonderful time and are very grateful to Bishop Milner for inviting them!

Year 1 enjoying the library

On Thursday 8th March – World Book Day – the children from Year 1 visited Dudley Library.

The children walked to the library dressed as their favourite book characters and took part in a couple of workshops!

The children had a great time and are really looking forward to visiting again!

Year 5 visit the ThinkTank

Year 5 in the lab!

On Friday 16th November the children from Year 5 visited the ThinkTank in Birmingham.

During the visit the children went in to the lab and took active parts in conducting a wide range of experiments – they even wore special lab coats!

The children had a wonderful day creating slime, looking at reversible and irreversible changes and even completing a bogey challenge!

 

Reception visit the Church

Children listening carefully to Father.

On Monday 16th July the children from Reception class went on a visit to our Church in Dudley – Our Blessed Lady and St Thomas of Canterbury.

The children walked to the church and then spent sometime looking around the church at the font, stained glass windows and artwork, the Stations of the Cross and listening to Father Emmanuel.

The children really enjoyed spending time with Father Emmanuel at the Church Рthank you Father!

Year 4 at Cadbury World

On Friday 13th July the children from Year 4 visited Cadbury Wold as part of their History topic learning about the Mayan civilisation.

The children had a lovely day learning about the Mayans and were very surprised about some of the facts about the ancient civilisation – they also enjoyed sampling some of the chocolate too!

Year 5 and 1 in church together!

On Thursday 12th July the children from Year 5 and 1 walked to the church together to hold their Prayer Partner Gathering.

The school Mission Team thought it would be a lovely idea to go on trips with their prayer partners so the children thought it would be nice to hold their gathering in Church so they could walk together, pray together and take extra time to look around the church together too.

The children had a wonderful time, one child commented, “Going to Church made our gathering extra special and I really enjoy praying with my prayer partner.”
