Year 5 visit the Wyre Forest

Year 5 around the camp fire!

On Wednesday 5th July Year 5 went to visit the Wyre Forest.

The children had a great day building shelters, creating fire and toasting marsh mellows!

Year 5 worked together really well and shared an enjoyable day!


Year 1 visit Clevedon

The children enjoying Clevedon!

On Friday 30th June Year 1 went on a very exciting trip to Clevedon!

The children arrived at school early to take the special trip to the seaside.  The children visited the pier where they saw our very own St Joseph’s plaque, they played in the sandpit, saw the sea, went on the bouncy castle and train and enjoyed a seaside picnic!

The children all had a fantastic time!

Year 3 on their trip!

On Wednesday 21st June Year 3 visited the Think Tank in Birmingham.

The children had a lovely day visiting the exhibition and taking part in the various workshops.

The children were very well behaved and all had a fantastic day!

Year 2 having a great time with Guy

On Tuesday 16th May the children from Year 2 and 4 visited the e-Zone at Roberts Street Primary School.

The children had a fantastic day taking part in some wonderful activities including creating natural art and pond dipping!


Mini Vinnies visit Mary Stevens Park

Our Mini Vinnies!

On Tuesday 16th May St Joseph’s Mini Vinnies alongwith Miss Wisniewski and Fr Emmanuel visited Mary Stevens Park  as part of a special Dementia Week organised by the Alzheimer’s Society.  The children have recently become Dementia Friends by taking part in some dementia training in school and took part in lots of activities at the park!.  The children decorated a United Against Dementia flag and went on a special walk together around the duck pond. They also sang some of the choir songs in the afternoon. It was a fantastic day and everyone can’t wait to do lots more work with the Alzheimer’s Society in the future!

Year 5 trip to the Think Tank

The children learned so much and had fun too!

On Friday 24th March Year 5 went on a class trip to the Think Tank in Birmingham.

The children had a great time looking at a variety of scientific experiments and even took part in launching their own rockets.

Well done Year 5 for being such excellent representatives of the school!

The children receiving the awards from the Mayor

On Monday 13th March Miss Jukes and some children from Year 6 visited the Mayors Parlour in Dudley to collect a special certificate and trophy.

St Joseph’s was awarded a certificate and lovely trophy for “the highest average collection per pupil” during the Poppy Appeal 2016.

We are really proud to receive this award as it shows how seriously we take contributing to the Poppy Appeal each year in school along with how generous the children and families of St Joseph’s are.

Children singing for the residents

On Tuesday 8th March our Mini Vinnies visited Broadway Halls Care Home.

The children sang many songs that they had practised in Choir including ‘Land of Hope and Glory’ which all the residents joined in with too!

The children also took daffodils and fairy cakes which they had decorated themselves.

Both the residents and the children had a wonderful afternoon together.

Year 1 having fun on their trip!

On Wednesday 15th February Year 1 went on a trip to Robert’s Street Primary School to work with Guy in the eZone.

During their visit the children took part in a variety of sensory activities, created natural art and even had time for some pond dipping too!

The children all had lots of fun and had a great time!
