The first step of our journey

On Thursday 15th February we began our Lent tradition of extra assemblies to explore and pray each station of the cross.

During each of the special assemblies we place a pair of purple footprints to show our journey through Lent.

One Year 3 child said, “I enjoy the extra assemblies as it helps me to feel close to Jesus.”

Year 3 children preparing the altar display before Mass

On Tuesday 14th February Year 3 lead our whole school Ash Wednesday Mass.

The children prepared the readings, wrote their own biding prayers, acted out the Gospel and created a lovely display in front of the altar.

During Mass all of the children, adults and lots of Parishioners received the ashes to mark the beginning of the season of Lent where we are reminded to pray, fast and give alms.

One Year 6 child commented: “I felt a sense of quiet and peace when I received the ashes this morning.”

Holy Water Fonts

One of the Holy Water Fonts

Thanks to the suggestion from the Mission Team we now have Holy Water Fonts on the wall on the way into the hall from both the Key Stage One and Key Stage Two entrances.

The Mission Team thought it would be a good idea if people could bless themselves as they enter the gatherings we have together in the hall.  It was a lovely idea and we are pleased to report that they are now installed!

Father Emmanuel will bless water for us so we can have the fonts up and running as soon as possible!

New Wall Art!

Thursday, 11 January 2018

One of our quotes from John 15:12

We have some new wall art in place around our school.  We have a range of quotes relating to kindness, forgiveness and equality which reflect our school values.

The quotes are in place in the school reception area and along the top corridor opposite the hall – look out for them on you next visit into school!
