The Mission Team at work!

On Thursday 18th October the children from the Mission Team met together to look through the Mission Award applications.

We have received a record number of applications from children from Years 1 -6 who feel they deserve to be awarded the Mission Award for their class as they can show that they: know our school values, have taken part in prayer services, have shown how they are kind to others both in school and in the wider community and can name some traditional prayers etc

The Mission Team took their job of looking through the applications very seriously and in some cases went to speak to the applicants to get further information!

Well done Mission Team!

Our Mission Team in their meeting!

On Thursday 13th September we held our first Mission Team meeting of the new school year.

We began our meeting with a prayer, asking Jesus to be with us and to guide us during the meeting.  The children then worked together to think about both the Catholic Life and Collective Worship in our school – what we think is good and what we could do to make it even better.

The children had lots of ideas and are going to return to their classes to share these with their friends.

Well done children – some excellent ideas!

Year 5 and 1 hold their gathering in Church

Thursday, 12 July 2018

Year 5 and 1 in church together!

On Thursday 12th July the children from Year 5 and 1 walked to the church together to hold their Prayer Partner Gathering.

The school Mission Team thought it would be a lovely idea to go on trips with their prayer partners so the children thought it would be nice to hold their gathering in Church so they could walk together, pray together and take extra time to look around the church together too.

The children had a wonderful time, one child commented, “Going to Church made our gathering extra special and I really enjoy praying with my prayer partner.”

Mission Awards

Monday, 30 April 2018

The medals all ready to be given out soon!

On Monday 30th April we launched our new Mission Awards in school.

Children from Years 1-6 have the chance to gain a Mission Award medal by showing that they meet a list of criteria relevant to their age group.

Children have a checklist of things which they have to show they have done, either by taking photos, parents writing about what they have done at home etc.  Children then bring their ‘evidence’ into school where the children from our Mission Team take a look and decide if they have completed everything on the checklist to be awarded the medal.

The Mission Team meets once a half term to look at the ‘evidence’ so children have six opportunities a year to submit their work!

Good luck everyone!
