A Fond Farewell!

The visiting teachers in the assembly

On Friday 13th October we held a special International Link Celebration Assembly to say goodbye to the teachers and Headteacher who are visiting from SP118 school in Poland.

During the assembly Year 6C acted out the new story we are sharing with SP118, Year 6M spoke about what they are grateful for, Year 4 sang, Years 3 and 5 shared posters that they had created and Reception shared a dance – Photos are on our Special Events page.

At the end of the assembly the teachers and Headteacher spoke about the wonderful week we have shared together.  We all agree that the link we have with SP118 is special – every child in the school now has a Pen Pal in SP118 who they video link and write letters too!

We are all very grateful that our link is so strong and pray that it continues to grow.

Year 5 during their Mediation Liturgy

On Friday 13th October Year 5 prepared a special Meditation Liturgy for our Polish visitors.

During the Liturgy the children prayed for people all around the world, prayed for peace and also prayed that our visitors would have a safe journey home later today.

The children and visitors took part in a guided mediation, thinking about meeting Jesus and what they would say to him.

It was a lovely mediation Liturgy which our visitors very much enjoyed.

Mrs Kauser talking to Year 5 and 6.

On Friday 13th October Mrs Kauser kindly came into school to talk to all of the children about Islam.

Mrs Kauser spoke to the children from Nursery all the way through to Year 6 about her faith and shared a very informative PowerPoint presentation along with lots of artefacts for the children to look at.

Our Polish teachers also had time to attend one of the talks which they too found very interesting.

We are very grateful to Mrs Kauser for giving up her time to work with us today!

A very special welcome and Harvest Mass

Our lovely Harvest display!

On Monday 9th October the children led a very special Mass!

Firstly, Mass was celebrated on Monday (instead of our usual Tuesday Mass) to welcome the six teachers and the Headteacher from our partner School in Poland – SP118.

Secondly, it was our Harvest Mass and lots of families sent in tins of food which will be donated to the Good Shepherd Appeal in Wolverhampton.

Finally, we celebrated the feast day of Blessed John Henry Newman.

Year 6 did a fantastic job of preparing the readings, acting, prayers and bringing the Offertory to make our Mass so special!

Year 3 talking to their partners from SP118

During the week beginning 5th June children from Key Stage Two were given a time slot to talk to their partners in SP118 from Wroclaw in Poland.

The children were able to talk online to their partners and share information about their hopes and dreams along with discussing important topics like school and the weather!

The children really enjoyed talking to their partners and look forward to doing it again very soon!
