Goodbye and Good Luck Year 6

Year 6 performing for one last time!

On Friday 19th July the children from Year 6 treated us to one last dance performance before they leave St Joseph’s.

We are very proud of all of our Year 6 children, they have been a pleasure to have at St Joseph’s and even though they are leaving the building we reminded them that they will always part of the St Joseph’s family.

Thank you Year 6 and all the very best for the future.

House Cup!

Our Kindness House Captain

During our merit assembly on Friday 19th July the grand total for the house point competition was revealed and this term it was Kindness who have won the house cup!

It was a very close competition with so many house points being collected by all of the children, but this term it was Kindness who had collected the highest number of house points and the house cup will now be decorated in their colours until Christmas!

Our Mission Award Winners

During our merit assembly on Friday 19th July the Mission Team awarded the mission award medals for this half term.

The Mission Team were over whelmed with entries and took the job of looking though the applications very seriously and took great pride in awarding the medals during the assembly!

We also now have a number of children who have re-applied for the Mission Award during the year and they have been recognised with a certificate.

Year 4 leading the gathering

On Thursday 18th July the children from Year 4 hosted a prayer partner gathering for their partners in Year 2.

The theme of the gathering was using our talents and being grateful.  The children from Year 4 picked readings, songs and created a lovely display to reflect the theme of the gathering.

Year 2 were very grateful to all the effort Year 4 had out into making their final prayer partner gathering so special.  Well done Year 4!

Year 6’s Graduation

On Thursday 18th July we celebrated the successes of our Year 6 children during their time at St Joseph’s during a special graduation ceremony.

Each child was spoken about individually by the Year 6 teachers as they were presented with a special medal, scroll and autograph book.

We wish all of our Year 6 children the very best of luck as they move on to the next stage in their lives.

Year 2 in the Bible Garden

Year 2 harvesting their onions!

On Thursday 18th July the children from Year 2 went to work in the Bible Garden.

The children went in the garden to harvest the spring onions which they have been growing this half term.

Well done Year 2 for growing some lovely onions!

Mini Vinnies go visiting!

Mini Vinnies at Broadway Halls

On Wednesday 17th July the Mini Vinnies visited Broadway Halls to perform to some of the elderly residents.

The children have been practising songs which they performed to the residents and were very well received.

Vocations Talk

Vocations talk in Year 5.

On Wednesday 17th July Years 5 and 6 were visited by Tharushi Jayakidy from St Mary’s College Oscott who is Vocation Promotion Outreach Fieldworker.

Tharushi spoke to the children about her own vocation and vocations in the church.

The children were very interested in the talk and grateful to Tharushi for taking the time to visit us!

The Mission Team at work!

On Wednesday 17th July the children from the Mission Team met together to look through the Mission Award applications for this half term.

The Mission Team looked very carefully at all of the applications and the winners will be awarded their medals on Friday!

Our Mission Team Meeting

On Wednesday 17th July the Mission Team met for their end of term meeting.

The children worked together to look at various suggestions which other children have put in the class suggestion boxes and discussed these together.

The children then went on to evaluate the Catholic Life and Collective Worship in our school and thought of ways in which we can make it even better!
